Superior quality dyes, pigment dispersions, fixatives and more!

Direct Dyes – Elcomine® and Pontamine®
Elco direct dyes are among the industry’s leading colorants for papermaking applications because of their excellent overall performance, wide variety of hue and broad range of application on all types of cellulose fiber. Our direct dyes — Elcomine and Pontamine — are ideal for softwood, hardwood, bleached, unbleached, groundwood or TMP, as well as recycled furnishes. These products may be applied in the wet-end, at the size-press or waterbox. Our direct dyes provide excellent value for papermakers due to their efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

ChromaScape offers a wide range of direct dyes in both powder and concentrated, easy-to-handle liquid form.

Basic Dyes – Elcozine®, Verona®
Liquid dyes may be preferable where automated color control is used to produce pastel to moderate shades. But our powder dyes remain the product of choice where large volumes are used to produce very deep shades for fine paper and tissue. Because powder dyes are up to five times more concentrated than liquid dyes, smaller quantities are required.

Acid Dyes – Elcocid®, Acilan®
ChromaScape offers a broad range of acid dyes for the paper industry. They are intended for use in surface coloring where vivid, bright shades are required. Elco acid dyes — Elcocid — are highly soluble in water and exhibit excellent fastness to heat and light. They are recommended when brightness of shade cannot be obtained with other relevant paper dyes classes.

Elocid acid dyes are available in liquid and powder form.

Pigment Dispersions – Elcoment®, Halopont®, Ponolith®
Our aqueous pigment dispersions are homogeneous suspensions of finely ground pigments using non-ionic and/or anionic dispersants. Our Elcoment, Halopont and Ponolith pigments are among the most widely used colorants for tinting wood-free bleached pulps and coatings due to their high chroma, maximum brightness retention and high whiteness contribution. These pigments offer exceptional performance in grades of printing and writing papers, mat or museum board facing papers or laminate base papers requiring higher light fastness than dyes.

Pigment dispersions can be formulated with a range of dispersants, and dispersant choice is critical for the intended end use application. We offer organic, inorganic, synthetic and basic dyes. Our pigment lines are intended for laminate base papers, parchment papers, museum boards, high-quality printing papers, tinting whites and various non-woven applications.

Our liquid dispersions are completely dispersible in water in all proportions and can be used either as received or diluted for batch addition and/or continuous coloring.

Fixatives – Elcofix®, Levogen®, Mesitol®
Our cationic fixatives provide retention, bleed-fastness and effluent coloration improvement for anionic dyes and pigments. They improve the appearance, e.g., intensity and uniformity, of papers dyed with basic dyestuff. These products — Elcofix and Levogen — also help to improve bleedfastness and can be used as an auxiliary for controlling the two-sidedness of dyed paper. Our fixatives are ideal for tissue, toweling and fine paper grades.

Optical brighteners – Elcowhite®
Our optical brightening agents help papermakers enhance the look of finished products and achieve target brightness. Our Elcowhite product is a fluorescent whitening agent (FWAs) that is suitable for a range of pulp types and paper grades.

Our optical brighteners are available in both powder and liquid form.
